Official figures show that the Venezuelan State payroll has expanded 45.2 percent over the last eight years.Ending June, the number of public workers amounted to 2,026,307 people, compared to 1,395,326 people eight years ago, according to data disclosed by the official National Statistics Institute (INE) and the extinct Statistics and IT Central Bureau (OCEI).
