Communique : XI Meeting Council for Foreign and Community Relations /Comunicado: XI reunión del Consejo de Relaciones Internacionales y Comunitarias

The Ministers took note of the efforts made by Guyana and Venezuela towards the maintenance of good relations between the two countries.They expressed the hope that the Good Offices Process of the United Nations Secretary-General within the ambit of the Geneva Agreement, to which both countries remain committed, would be soon resuscitated with a view to finding a peaceful settlement to the border controversy. The Ministers reiterated their full support for the maintenance of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Guyana ( full information)/ Los ministros tomaron la nota de los esfuerzos hechos por Guyana y Venezuela para el mantenimiento de buenas relaciones entre los dos países. Expresarón la esperanza que el Proceso de Buenos Oficios de las Naciones Unidas del Secretario General en el ámbito del acuerdo de Ginebra, aencual ambos países siguen confiados, será pronto reinstalado con objeto de encontrar una solución pacífica a la controversia fronteriza. Los ministros reiteraron su apoyo total al mantenimiento de la soberanía y de la integridad territorial de Guyana.
