The petroleum barrel increased four times in the last six years and Venezuela (one of the mayor oil exporters of the world), gained trillions of dollars more than the more optimistic projections anticipated. In spite of that never Venezuelan were so poor - more than half of the population -, and in no other period of history poverty grew to a rate so accelerated, as it is informed by the Program of the Nations United for the Development (the PNUD) and the Venezuelan official statistic bureau (Instituto National de Estadística)/ El barril de petróleo aumentó más de cuatro veces en los últimos seis años y Venezuela (uno de los mayores exportadores del mundo), ganó billones de dólares más de lo previsto en sus proyecciones más optimistas. A pesar de eso nunca hubo tantos venezolanos pobres -más de la mitad de la población-, y en ningún otro período de la historia la pobreza creció a un ritmo tan acelerado. Así lo demuestran estudios del Programa de las Naciones Unidas para el Desarrollo (Pnud) y del Instituto Nacional de Estadística (INE), del propio país.(artículo completo)
